My goal is ride the Thunderbird to South Dakota. In 2006 the Bonneville America broke down in Sturgis (bad magneto). I was stranded, an awful feeling and the nearest Triumph dealer was 1,000 miles! It'll be in the back of my mind as I make a second attempt. Link

I've been from central Florida to Myrtle Beach and back and not even a hiccup. Barring a flat tire any thing that fails is generally beyond your control no matter where you are at ( unless you are riding in the dealer parking lot ) and then they will have to order parts. Besides it adds to the adventure.

Yeah, Bonnie was in my brother's pickup bed but nobody asked why. ...I guess trailering comes natural.

4 trips to Sturgis and back on the t-bird with no issues. The bike ate up the miles and kicked ass in the twisties of the black hills.

Enjoy your trip and don't worry about stuff.

4 times at the rally, I applaud your accomplishment. I assume the bike was noticed, lots of comments and compliments?
The Bonnie was well received, I rode out from Phoenix.

Actually 2 trips were to the rally and 2 were (during non rally time) to just ride the black hills. Both are fun, but if different ways.
